StopScope privacy policy
Effective October 16, 2026.
This policy covers StopScope, the route planner app for Android from Cajun App Factory, and StopScope Dispatch, the website at stopscope.com that businesses use to plan routes and send them to their drivers. The app was called MyStops before a rename. "We" and "us" mean Cajun App Factory. Questions go to support@cajunappfactory.com.
Summary
- You need an account to use StopScope. It holds your email, your name and your sign-in dates.
- Your own routes, photos and mileage stay on your phone unless you drive for a business through StopScope Dispatch.
- If you drive for a business through Dispatch, that business sees your name, your location during its routes, route progress, signatures, photos, miles and gas receipts.
- The free app shows Google AdMob ads. Pro users, trial users and Dispatch drivers see no ads.
- We don't sell your personal information and we don't share it for targeted advertising, except for the AdMob ad data described under Advertising, which you can control.
- You can delete your account in the app, at https://stopscope.com/delete-account, or by email.
Your StopScope account
You must sign in to use StopScope. You can sign in with Google, or with the email and password of a stopscope.com account.
When you sign in, we create an account on our server. It holds: - your email address, - your name, if we have one: from your Google account, or the name on your stopscope.com account (a name is optional for email sign-in), - whether your email has been confirmed, - when the account was created and when you last signed in, - a sign-in session. We store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of the session token. On your phone the token is encrypted with a key kept in Android's secure key store.
We use this to run your account and to check whether a business has added your email as a driver in StopScope Dispatch. If it has, the app switches to Dispatch mode and shows the routes assigned to you. If not, you get the regular app.
Google Sign-In. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address, your name and a Google account ID with us. We use them only to sign you in, run your account and check for Dispatch driver status. We don't use Google user data for ads, we don't sell it, and we don't transfer it to anyone except as needed to provide the service (our hosting provider, Cloudflare) or as required by law. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google handles the sign-in itself under its own privacy policy.
stopscope.com accounts. Website accounts (used by dispatchers, and for email sign-in in the app) hold your email, an optional name, a password stored only as a salted, slow hash (PBKDF2), whether your email is confirmed, your company and role, and sign-in sessions (stored as hashes). We never store your password itself. We send account emails, such as email confirmation and password reset links, from no-reply@stopscope.com through Cloudflare's email service. Confirmation and reset links are single-use and expire. We don't send marketing email.
Information the app uses
Location. With your permission, StopScope uses your precise location to show where you are, order your stops, and show miles and time left on the route.
Location in the background (optional). If you turn on Background mileage tracking, StopScope collects location data to log the miles you drive on a route, even when the app is closed or not in use (for example while Google Maps is open). A notification shows while it runs, and you can stop it there or turn it off in Settings. Outside Dispatch mode, it is used only to add up miles on your phone and is not sent to us or anyone else. The app keeps daily mile totals, not a trail of places. Dispatch mode is different; see "StopScope Dispatch" below.
Camera and photos. With your permission, StopScope uses the camera or a photo you choose to read an address from a label or a list. The text is read on the phone.
Microphone. If you tap the mic to say an address, StopScope uses Android's speech recognition service, which may send the audio to its provider (usually Google) to turn it into text. StopScope gets only the text and doesn't record or store audio.
Kept on your phone. StopScope stores what you enter or bring in: your home or start address, stops and package notes, delivery windows, spreadsheets you import, odometer readings, fuel amounts and costs, and proof, odometer and receipt photos. Outside Dispatch mode these stay on your phone, except for the addresses and positions sent to look up places and plan routes, described next.
The app does not ask for your contacts, card number, or hardware IDs such as an IMEI. The free version uses your device's advertising ID for ads, as described under Advertising.
Our route service
Route lines and address lookups go through StopScope's route service, a server we run on Cloudflare. It passes each request to Google Maps Platform (Geocoding, Places and Routes) and returns the answer. It receives the addresses and coordinates in those requests but does not store them.
To keep the service fair and prevent abuse, it stores: - a random install ID and a key created by the app, - a salted hash of your network (IP) address, never the address itself, - your time zone, - a Google Play Integrity check result (a check that the app is genuine, with no personal data), - daily counts of lookups (deleted after 35 days), - for StopScope Pro, a hashed copy of your Google Play purchase token and which phones use it (up to 3), - IDs of reward ads you watched (deleted after 35 days).
Purchase records are deleted when the purchase is no longer active, and in any case 35 days after your phone last sent it. Installs that stay unverified and unused are deleted after 60 days. For sign-in security, stopscope.com also keeps your IP address in a short-lived rate-limit counter to block repeated failed sign-in attempts.
Crash reports
The Android app uses Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, to send us crash reports. If the app crashes or hits an error, Crashlytics collects crash logs and diagnostics: the technical error details (stack trace), your device model, Android version, the app version, a random installation ID, and whether the app is in personal or driver mode and whether Pro is active. Crash reports never include your addresses, routes, names or locations; the app strips addresses, emails and numbers from error messages before sending them.
We use crash reports only to find and fix bugs. They are not sold or shared for advertising. Crash reports are on by default; you can turn them off any time in Settings > About > Send crash reports, which also deletes reports that haven't been sent yet. Google processes this data under the Firebase privacy terms and keeps crash reports for 90 days.
Purchases
In the app. StopScope Pro is a subscription through Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment, and we never see your card. Our server checks the purchase with Google and keeps the hashed purchase token described above.
On stopscope.com. Businesses pay for StopScope Dispatch on stopscope.com. Payments are processed by Stripe, which collects and stores card details under its own privacy policy. We never receive or store card numbers. We keep the Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the plan, the number of driver seats and the billing status.
StopScope Dispatch (for businesses and their drivers)
StopScope Dispatch lets a business ("the company") plan routes on stopscope.com and send them to its drivers in the app. The company decides which drivers to add by email address, and it enters the driver's name and phone number. The company is responsible for how it uses its drivers' and customers' information. For this data we act as a service provider (processor) for the company. If you want to access or delete data a company holds about you, contact that company. We will help it respond.
Invite emails. When a company adds you as a driver, we send one email to the address it entered, from no-reply@stopscope.com, saying which company added you and how to install the app and sign in. The company can resend it a few times. If you don't have a StopScope account yet, the email has a single-use link that expires after 7 days. We store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of that link. We keep a record of each invite we send (company, your email address, and the time) for security and to prevent abuse. We don't tell the company whether your email already has a StopScope account.
Information the company enters. Route names and dates, start addresses, stop addresses, customer contact names and phone numbers, notes and item lists. We store these to run the service for the company.
What the company sees about its drivers, in Dispatch mode only: - Your name and email address, as the company entered them. - Location during a route only. While you're on a route the company assigned, your location is shared with the company so the dispatcher can see where you are. Sharing starts when the route starts and stops when it ends. A notification shows while it's on. Your location is not shared outside an active Dispatch route. - Route progress: which stops are done or skipped, and when. - Proof of delivery: a signature, the typed name of the person who signed, and optional photos, attached to itemized delivery receipts that include the stop address. - Miles and fuel: miles driven on Dispatch routes, odometer readings and gas receipts (including photos).
The company doesn't see your personal StopScope routes, stops, miles or anything you did outside Dispatch mode.
How long Dispatch data is kept: - Location history from Dispatch routes: 90 days after it is recorded, then deleted. This applies to every company, whatever its subscription. - Miles, odometer readings, gas receipts, delivery receipts, photos and signatures: while the company's subscription or free license is active, plus 1 year after the subscription ends, then deleted. - Routes, stops and driver lists: while the company's account is active, or until the company deletes them.
Who it is shared with
- Google Maps Platform (Maps SDK, Geocoding, Places and Routes): stop addresses and, when the app places stops or draws the road line, your location, sent through our route service. The next stop opens in Google Maps (or Waze, if you choose it), which handles the address under its own policy.
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim: if Google can't name a spot you long-press on the map, its coordinates are sent there to look up an address.
- jsDelivr: if the phone's built-in text reader isn't available, the app downloads a backup text reader. Only that download request goes there. Your photos are not sent.
- Google Play (Billing and Integrity) and Google Sign-In.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: crash logs and diagnostics (above), unless you turn crash reports off.
- Google AdMob, for ads in the free version (below).
- Stripe, for company billing on stopscope.com.
- Cloudflare, which hosts our servers and database (Cloudflare Workers and D1) and sends our account emails.
- The company you drive for, in Dispatch mode only, as described above.
Our service providers may use the data only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the app. If that happens, this policy will continue to apply or we will tell you.
Advertising
The free version shows full-screen ads between screens from Google AdMob, and an optional ad you can watch for more daily lookups. Pro users, trial users and Dispatch drivers (the company pays for the service) see no ads.
To show ads, the AdMob software collects your device's advertising ID, your approximate location based on your IP address, how you interact with the app and its ads, and diagnostic information. It sends these to Google to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. Your account email and name, routes, stop addresses, photos and mileage are not sent to AdMob. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent with Google's consent tool before showing personalized ads. You can change your choice any time in Settings, About, Privacy choices. Anyone can reset or delete their advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in the phone's Android settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads, or Settings > Google > Ads).
Security
All connections between the app, stopscope.com and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS), and the app refuses unencrypted connections. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, session and purchase tokens only as hashes, and network addresses in the route service only as salted hashes. Each company's Dispatch data is kept separate from other companies'. Access to our systems is limited to what's needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
How long it's kept
- Account: until you delete it.
- On your phone: routes, photos and mileage stay until you delete them. StopScope keeps about a week of daily automatic backups in its own storage. Files you export go to your Downloads folder and stay until you delete them. Looked-up addresses are deleted 30 days after the lookup, or sooner with Clear saved addresses in Settings.
- Route service data: as described under "Our route service".
- Dispatch data: as described under "StopScope Dispatch".
- Billing records: as long as the law requires for tax and accounting.
- Support email: kept so we can answer it. You can ask us to delete it.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account any time: - In the app: Settings > Delete account. - On the web: https://stopscope.com/delete-account - By email: write to support@cajunappfactory.com from the address you sign in with.
Your account (email, name, sign-in dates and sessions) is deleted right away. If you drove for a company, the delivery records you gave it (proof of delivery, receipts, miles, odometer readings, gas receipts and route location history) are the company's business records. They are not deleted with your account. They stay with the company and are deleted on the schedule above. To remove everything on your phone, delete routes, clear StopScope's storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the app.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: - know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and get a copy of it, - correct it, - delete it, - opt out of the sale of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising and profiling, - limit the use of sensitive personal information, - not be treated differently for using these rights.
California (CCPA/CPRA) and other US states (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and others with similar laws). In the last 12 months we collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (email, name, account and install IDs, advertising ID, IP address); commercial information (purchase and subscription records); geolocation (precise location in the app; for Dispatch drivers, location during routes); internet or electronic activity (app and ad interactions, diagnostics); audio and visual information (photos and signatures you choose to provide in Dispatch); and professional information (for Dispatch drivers, the company you drive for and your delivery records). Sources are you, your device, the company you drive for, and Google. We use it for the purposes in this policy. We don't sell personal information for money. The ad data that AdMob collects in the free app may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising or "targeted advertising" under some state laws. To opt out, turn on Opt out of Ads Personalization or delete your advertising ID in Android settings, or upgrade to Pro. Precise location is used only to provide the service and is not used to infer things about you. We don't knowingly sell or share personal information of anyone under 16.
EEA, UK and Switzerland. You also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (your account, routes, Dispatch); your consent (location, camera, microphone, personalized ads); and our legitimate interests (security, preventing abuse, and improving the service). Our servers are run by US companies, so your information may be processed in the United States and other countries.
To use any of these rights, email support@cajunappfactory.com, or use the in-app and web deletion options above. We'll confirm the request comes from you, usually by replying to the email address on your account, and answer within the time the law allows (45 days in California). You can use an authorized agent if you give them written permission. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with "Appeal" in the subject. If your request is about a company's Dispatch data, we'll pass it to that company.
Children
StopScope is a work tool for drivers. It is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
